Abstract

The article examines the Old Russian system of proportions and measurements, on the basis of which both religious and economic architectural structures were erected and built before the introduction of the metric system of measures. Based on the research of A.F. Chernyaev and other authors show the special properties of the Old Russian measurement system, which made them commensurate with a person during individual construction and harmonize the external and internal space in the case of public structures. The importance of knowledge of this system for the preservation and restoration of monuments of the past and the possibility of its practical application in modern construction and manufacture of products for obtaining harmonizing and beneficial properties for health and development of living beings is shown. The connection of the Old Russian measurement system with the "dynamic geometry" of A.F. Chernyaev, exploring the properties of real and mobile, and not speculative and static space geometries of Euclid, Lobachevsky and Riemann. Briefly mentioned are the reasons why the outstanding discoveries of A.F. Chernyaev did not receive due recognition from the scientific world and the general public.
