Abstract

In order to understand the dynamic development of the city and coordinate the relationship between the expansion of built-up area land and economic growth, this paper takes the central urban area of Zhengzhou as the research object. Using DMSP/OLS and NPP/VIIRS multi temporal remote sensing data, statistical data comparison method is adopted to extract the spatiotemporal information of the dynamic expansion of built-up area in the urban high-speed development period of Zhengzhou central urban area from 2000 to 2022. The expansion speed, intensity, and dynamic degree of the urban built-up area in the central urban area of Zhengzhou are analyzed and calculated to obtain the urban expansion speed and amplitude. At the same time, combined with economic statistical data, the interactive relationship between construction land expansion and economic growth was quantitatively analyzed. The results showed that: first, the built-up area of the central urban area of Zhengzhou increased from 136km² in 2000 to 771km² in 2022, with a growth rate of 466.91%. The urban construction land in Zhengzhou showed a "steady rapid" expansion trend; second, the speed and intensity of urban expansion were the highest from 2015 to 2020, with the peak of urban expansion occurring between 2015 and 2020; third, the elasticity coefficient between the expansion of built-up areas and GDP growth is 0.63, and the contribution rate of land factors to economic growth is 28.7%; forth, from 2000 to 2022, the urban expansion type in the central urban area of Zhengzhou was rapid expansion.
